Religious life received a new impulse through the Vatican Council II. Thanks to the decree Perfectae Caritatis, the Council Fathers promoted the adaptation and renewal of religious life through «the constant return to the sources of all Christian life and to the original spirit of the institutes and their adaptation to the changed conditions of our time» (PC 2). However, such as renewal – that had to realize «under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the Church» (PC 2) – has not achieved the desire result always.
